(Kirksville, MO) —Kirksville Parks and Recreation will be celebrating Independence Day with two events! This week’s Movie in the Park on Saturday, July 1, 2017, at dusk, will be a free showing of Captain America: Civil War! The movie will take place at the Ray Klinginsmith Amphitheatre in Rotary Park. Come dressed as your favorite super hero for a chance to win a prize in our costume contest! Enjoy this week’s Movie in the Park, sponsored by the Kirksville Tourism Office!

Also, don’t miss the Kirksville Parks and Recreation “Splash Bash” at the Aquatic Center! On Tuesday, July 4, 2017, the outdoor pool at the Aquatic Center will be open from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, with reduced admission of only $3.50! Due to the holiday, there will be no morning lap swim. The Aquatic Center will return to regular business hours, Wednesday, July 5, 2017.

City offices will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, in observance of Independence Day. Offices will reopen on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, for regular business hours. The City encourages citizens to check out the schedule for the All American Red, White, and Blue Festival at www.visitkirksville.com/redwhiteandblue! Daily events run from Friday, June 30 through Tuesday, July 4, 2017, so be sure to check them out!
