Finance Receives Certificate of Achievement

(Kirksville, MO) — The City of Kirksville is proud to announce that the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded the City of Kirksville, Missouri with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. The City’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, or CAFR, was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which include demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.

City Manager, Mari Macomber stated, “The hard work of our Finance Department ensures the City’s commitment to fiscal responsibility. I am proud that their hard work has been recognized by receiving this Certificate of Achievement.”

The Government Finance Officers Association is a nonprofit professional association serving nearly 18,000 government finance professionals throughout North America.
