KPD warns of possible weather conditions

(Kirksville, MO) Highs may climb into the middle 90s again this afternoon, mainly in areas south of Highway 36. But this may be tempered by cloud cover from storms moving in from the west.

If cloud cover is thin or breaks up, heat indices would climb to around 105.

•Severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and this evening across much of northern MO and northeastern KS.

Damaging winds and frequent lightning are possible with these storms. Additionally, flash flooding is possible with rain rates as high as 3”/hour and widespread rain amounts of 2” to 4”.
