KPD warns of excessive heat advisory

(Kirksville, MO) Excessive heat is still on tap for the region starting Wednesday, lasting through Saturday (7/19-7/22). Tuesday will see heat index values in the 95 to 100 degree range, but by Wednesday heat index values will jump into the 105 to 110 degree range. Expect each day thereafter through Saturday to see heat index values around 110 degrees. Saturday may see a few storms and clouds across northern Missouri, which may bring some subtle relief. Even if storms form in the area of far northern Missouri heat indices will still be in the 100 to 105 degree range.

An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect for much of Missouri and far eastern Kansas from Wednesday until Saturday.

An Excessive Heat Watch is in effect for far northern Missouri Wednesday through Saturday. A conversion from Watch to either Advisory or Warning will likely be issued for this area Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning.
