Multiple Fatality Motor Vehicle Accident
(Kirksville, MO) – On October 23, 2017, at 2:19 p.m., Kirksville Police Dept. responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries on US Hwy 63 (bypass) approximately a quarter mile north of Missouri Hwy 11.
This motor vehicle collision involved two vehicles. Preliminary investigation revealed a Ford Escape driven by Gwendolyn Laudwig was northbound and crossed the center line striking a southbound Ford Fusion driven by Rachel Morris.
Gwendolyn Ludwig (76 years old) and her passenger, Wayne Laudwig (84 years old), both of Greentop, MO were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle, Rachel Morris (19 years old), of Queen City, was transported from the scene and later pronounced dead at Northeast Regional Medical Center.
Kirksville Police Department was assisted by Missouri State Highway Patrol, Adair County Sheriff’s Office, Kirksville Fire Department., Adair County Ambulance Department and Truman State University Department of Public Safety.
