Man arrested after making threats
Daniel J Arey
(Kirksville, MO) On 10/31/2017 Kirksville Police Department took a report of a subject making terroristic threats to the Division of Family Services in regards to an investigation they were conducting.
Daniel Arey of Kirksville, MO made threats that he was “going to shoot people at the D.F.S. office”. Kirksville Police and the Adair County Sheriff Department responded to an address on Greystone Lane to speak with Arey.
A confrontation ensued between Arey and law enforcement officers. Arey resisted arrest and assaulted both law enforcement officers.
Both the Officer and Deputy received minor injuries. Arey was eventually placed under arrest and transported to the Adair County Detention Center after being released from Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
Arey was placed on a twenty-four hour hold pending formal charges of Terroristic Threats, Resisting Arrest, and Assaulting a Law Enforcement Officer.
