CALLING ALL CAPTAINS OF CARDBOARD BOATS!

(Kirksville, MO) —Row, row, row your cardboard boat to the Kirksville Aquatic Center, Saturday, September 9, 2017, at 3:00 pm! Kirksville Parks and Recreation is hosting our first Cardboard Boat Race with help from our local Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.

Seas the day and start building your cardboard boat now! Just use the rules found at www.kirksvillecity.com/parkprograms to build your vessel, show up on September 9, at 3:00 pm, with your vessel in tow, and be ready to paddle! Boat Captains and a crew of up to 3 additional mates of all ages will race to the finish to see who can float their cardboard boat the fastest, and who will tragically sink! There are multiple award categories, so be creative!

The Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts will not only be on hand to assist with the event, but will also be offering registrations for their programs for children grades K - 5.
